Who
we are
The Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Atlantic County 4-H Youth Development Program uses a learn-by-doing approach to enable youth to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills they need to become competent, caring, and contributing citizens of the world. This mission is accomplished by using the knowledge and resources of the land grant university system, along with the involvement of caring adults.
Our club aims to improve ourselves, our homes, our club, and our community. To accomplish these goals, the Atlantic County 4-H Livestock & Poultry Club provides youth a fun and hands-on learning experience that develops life skills, as well as teaches valuable information about properly caring for their livestock and poultry. Subjects such as general care, nutrition, housing, and health care are presented in the curricular materials, through workshops and activities such as poultry, livestock, and egg judging, and in preparation of an exhibit. Youth also have opportunities to develop responsibility, financial accountability, decision-making skills, nurturing, and communication skills.
